Ilsington Country House Hotel & Spa

Wonderful stay at Ilsington. Sarah, the therapist was absolutely perfect - I would highly recommend a treatment with her. The evening meal was incredible and the service throughout our stay was fabulous. Well done Ilsington.

We visited on a Sunday stop over deal and had a great visit. The staff from start to finish were excellent, attentive and personal service that you don’t see too often nowadays but as a guest, makes all the difference. Despite the main restaurant being understandably closed in January it made no difference to the quality of the food. We ate in the bar and had the choice of either the bar menu (which was great) supplemented by some dishes normally found on the main restaurant menu. Rooms were very comfortable and very in keeping with a country house type of feel. Spa was very good and overall would love to return. Well done to all, a very enjoyable visit and comes highly recommended

Spent a wonderful evening at the hotel. Staff friendly, efficient and polite. Rooms clean and modern with lovely touches like homemade flapjacks. Food in the restaurant was outstanding both for diner and breakfast. The spa was a great touch too with a lovely pool and sauna as well as a seriously well equipped gym. Had an excellent massage from Victoria in the spa who was very professional and courteous. Will definitely be returning!

The staff at this hotel are what make it so special. They are all very attentive and always have a smile! The food was delicious and very well presented. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. The spa was a great area to relax and very good value for money. We will definitely recommend this experience to friends and family and can’t wait to return ourselves!

Lovely stay. Very comfortable hotel. Well planned rooms with all you need for a good night's sleep. Excellent food in both restaurant and bar. Clearly very skilled chef using good local ingredients. Spa is a real added extra with very good treatments. All staff unfailingly friendly and helpful. Good location just on the edge of Dartmoor but Dartmouth and S Deon beaches just 40 minutes away. I thought it good value for the for the quality of the hotel and it's food

We booked Ilsington to celebrate our wedding anniversary over the weekend, and I was really impressed, especially as it was my first time there. The food was great, and the spa was the perfect place to switch off, especially the large hydrotherapy pool and sauna. I also liked being able to grab a drink in the lounge before sitting down for dinner, which was a really nice way to start the evening. The location is ideal, just a short drive from Haytor. Overall, a brilliant spot for a chilled weekend away.

I highly recommend Ilsington Country House and Spa for a night away in Dartmoor. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped with thoughtful amenities—I especially loved the homemade flapjack bites by the coffee machine. The team are genuinely friendly and down-to-earth, with a special mention to Ellie on reception for making us feel so welcome. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and spent plenty of time relaxing in the spa. I was really impressed by the wide variety of treatments available, and the hydrotherapy pool is one of the best I’ve ever experienced.

Having just come back from my second stay at Ilsington hotel I must stay this place is wonderful and I look forward to my next stay. Each and every one of the staff are wonderful, customer service here is top notch. Another highlight was the food, it was delicious! The hotel has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and the decor was a lovely country style. The room was clean, and had everything we need for a comfy and cosy stay.
